Summer Forum RAAPA -2023 in Yekaterinburg

The 11th Summer International Forum of amusement industry specialists was held from July 18 to July 21 in Yekaterinburg!
 
 
Over 150 specialists from amusement parks, city governments, amusement facilities, leisure centers, amusement rides manufacturers and other representatives of the cultural and leisure sector from more than 50 cities of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan took part in the forum.
 
 
The event was organized by the Russian Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (RAPPA), with the support of the Administration of Yekaterinburg.
 
 
DataKrat, a leading software developer from Yekaterinburg and a system integrator in the automation market since 1992, became the General Sponsor of the forum.
 
 
The summer forum of RAAPA-2023 has become a significant event for the amusement industry in Russia! How did the forum go?
Before the start of the official part, on July 18, the participants visited the key sights of the city: the birthplace of the Yekaterinburg city-factory, the embankment of the city pond, ancient mansions and the modern business center of the Ural capital.
 
 
On July 19, the Summer Forum started in the large conference hall of the Hyatt Regency Hotel with a welcome speech to the participants of the forum made by RAAPA Vice President Igor Rodionov, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Dmitry Ionin, Head of the Culture Department of Yekaterinburg Ilya Markov and General Director of the DataKrat Group of Companies - Nikolay Yakovlev.
 
 
Further on, leading industry experts presented several interesting reports.
 
 
The event industry of the Sverdlovsk region and the tools of its support from the region were presented by Arkady Kiselev, Deputy General Director of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Sverdlovsk Region.
 
Pavel Zubakin, director of the Municipal Park named after Vladimir Mayakovsky, spoke about the strategy and tools for the development of the park of culture and recreation in modern conditions.
 
Alisa Larionova, director of the theme park Park Skazov, shared their experience of how to make the park a tourist attraction.
 
The business program continued with presentations of new equipment and the newest achievements of the amusement industry, which were held by leading Russian manufacturers: ATTRAPLAST, Vostok, Volgograd Attractions, PO GROS, BigDecor, Altay Composite, Skazka Amusement Factory, Game-Keeper, IOLLA, PAKS-Design, RAPPA Education Center, ATTRO, Sparta, FAMILYBIKE, BOLID, RIF Group, Cheerful Train, PVE-reality. Most of the solutions were presented by companies from Yekaterinburg: DataKrat, WARPOINT, Lime-Soft, AEROMIR, VRDIVER, Premier-Zal Cinema Network.
 
 
The first business day continued with a visit to FEC Raduga Park. The participants got acquainted with the operation of several recreation areas at a glance: FEC Raduga Land, the outdoor park Raduga Park and the WARPOINT virtual reality complex. Representatives of each amusement facility answered the questions of the participants in detail.
 
 
The first day ended up with a reception devoted to the opening of the 11th RAAPA Summer International Forum in Yekaterinburg.
 
 
 
The second day of the forum, July 20, began with traditional sporting event - the RAAPA Summer Race, which took place on the embankment of the Iset River. Despite the early morning, true running enthusiasts took part in this corporate competition. According to the results of the competition, the winners in the men's and women's categories were awarded.
 
 
Two educational sessions, held on the second day, were devoted to topical issues. Master class “STAFF or GUESTS: who is more important? The history of the entertainment center, which has gone from closure to record levels” was held by Anna Petukhova, director of the Raduga Land family entertainment center and park. The second master class "Development of a small park in the face of competition and limited resources" was held by Ksenia Karmatskikh, the manager of the Raduga Park.
 
Later in the day the forum program continued in the main park of Yekaterinburg – Central Park named after Vladimir Mayakovsky, where the park management spoke about the specifics of zoning its territory for entertainment, quiet recreation, events and sports. There, in Mayakovsky Park, the participants visited the ParkVR virtual reality arena, which is a mixture of laser tag and computer games.
 
 
The business part of the Forum ended with a visit to family theme park Park Skazov, dedicated to the traditional Ural folk culture and tales of Peter Bazhov. A solemn ceremony of handing diplomas to the participants of the event was also held there.
 
 
On July 21, the participants of the RAAPA Summer Forum got acquainted with the history of the Urals - they visited the unique Museum Complex of Military and Civil Equipment and visited the Europe-Asia border.
 
 
Those who opted to enhance the programme continued with a trip to  the city of Nizhny Tagil, organized by the Tagil Park company.
 
 
The 11th RAAPA Summer Forum has generated raving reviews from amusement industry professionals. The participants noted an extensive business program, a superb organization, the opportunity to exchange experience with colleagues from different regions and countries.
